Starting 01.09.2011 I have a new job. Still at Simula Research Laboratory, but with a new office, new title and new tasks. I will now work with external research funding. After 10 years with IT and Administration, and personnel responsibility for various groups I will now have a more focused responsibility working mainly with the research leaders at Simula, and, at least for now, no group of personnel to manage.
External research funding constitute a significant amount of funding for Simula, and complements basic allowance from the state as well as income related to innovation and commercial activities in subsidiaries. Up until now, the most important funding source has been the Research Council of Norway. An important part of my work will be to increase funding through the european framework programs.
I am considering breathing new life into this blog, writing about relevant and public parts from my new position.
